About Brighton Islamic Mission
The aims of the Brighton Islamic Mission are :
1) Providing accurate information on Islam and Muslims;
2) Providing speakers to Schools, governmental and non-governmental organizations;
3) Visiting hospitals for caring patients and Prisons pastoral care;
4) Building community relations with different faiths, groups and communities.
We have participated in a number of Islamic conferences,
Seminars, and programmes.
The Brighton Islamic Mission took keen interest in the following
religious and community related issues to serve Muslims
directly:
1. Co-operating with other Muslim organisations such as Muslim
Council of Britain (MCB) to address the important issues related
to Muslims in Britain
2. Marriages and Guidance to matrimonial matters
3. Muslim Burial
4. Islamic Lectures
5. Relief to the needy (ZAKAT and FITRANA)
6. Declaration of Islamic Faith. (We helped 59 people)
7. Inter-faith Activities
8. Islamic Naming Service and information on Birth rituals
9. Dawah and visits in Prisons
10. Islamic Book Service and Library
Publications include:
- Leaflet on prayer time-table
- Ramadan fasting time table
- booklets on "Salah"
- "Islam: A brief Introduction" were printed.
